More about this list

Learning chess in Yerevan usually starts at the municipal chess school of the child's own district. The city lists a children's and youth chess school for Ajapnyak, Arabkir, Avan, Davtashen, Erebuni, Kanaker-Zeytun, Malatia-Sebastia, Nor Nork, Nork-Marash and Nubarashen, one named after Rafayel Vahanyan on Taronts Street in Shengavit, and a school of higher chess mastery on Vratsyan Street. A city statement of 2016 calls these schools free, and most of them organise tournaments of their own on the tournament server, many of them qualification events in which pupils earn chess categories.

The Chess Academy of Armenia on Shevchenko Street teaches groups for ages four to eighteen from Monday to Saturday, without a fee, and adds camps and tournament training. The Tigran Petrosian Chess House on Khanjyan Street hosts many of the city's events. Beyond the city limits, the chess school of Abovyan and the first sports school of Vagharshapat organise tournaments of their own, and Kaissa Chess School is seen through the qualification tournaments it runs.
