Rated tournaments in Yerevan 11

A rated tournament is one whose games count for a FIDE rating, and in Yerevan several of the yearly events are run that way. The Yerevan Open, organised by the Yerevan Chess Federation at the Chess House in December, appears on the FIDE list edition after edition. The Chess Academy of Armenia rates its memorials for Andranik Margaryan, Stepan Avagyan, Hovhannes Danielyan and Arsen Yeghiazaryan, and its Academy Cup.

At the Tigran Petrosian Chess House, the House championship and the summer Sunny Chess tournament are rated as well, and Yerevan Spring is played at the Arabkir chess school on Komitas Avenue. The international youth festival named after Tigran Petrosian is rated in sections for players under twelve, fourteen and eighteen. Outside the city, the Abovyan Open has been held each summer. Sections and time controls are on the linked listings.
